Eleanor McMain Secondary School - Louisiana
The Eleanor McMain Secondary School is located in New Orleans, Louisiana. In 2009 McMain implemented a site-based model using the InnovatED platform to deliver course materials to their high school students. They have had such a positive response and successful outcome that administrators have moved to a blended-model implementation this 2010 summer session. This means their summer school students will not only be able to go to the school to take the summer school classes, but they will be able to log-in to their courses from home. This 2010 summer session looks like it will be just as successful as the past year with students registered for over 200 courses already!
Brenda Hewlett of McMain Secondary School has personally overseen the program to assist over 120 previously failed courses to be recovered. Brenda said “ The InnovatED program has helped our students recover credits needed to be successful students and graduate from high school and matriculate into college. The staff of InnovatED is always available to assist with student problems and support staff issues if they arise. Even though it is an online course that students take, the personal attention deserves a major thumbs up.”
Keith Lewis, an online mentor at McMain, is quick to point out how the whole process of implementation has been very smooth. "From beginning to end, I've enjoyed working with the InnovatED team."
Eric Felix, an online mentor at McMain, has told us more than once that he appreciates how quickly things get completed. "With other companies, it could take days to get changes made to student information or courses, and with InnovatED, it is done within a few hours. I love being able to pick up the phone and call someone, and that someone knows me, and is able to immediately help me." This is the kind of personal service InnovatED delivers.
